Kannur
Five weeks after Portmarnock, we do it again in Kerala with Jithin’s family. One day, two venues, both in Kannur.
The wedding
Seashell Haris Beach Home, Adikadalayi
The ceremony itself, by the water. A traditional Kerala wedding, and shorter than most people expect.
Reception
Magnet Hotel, Kannur
A short drive from the ceremony. Dinner, music, and the part of the day that runs late.
Ceremony
Seashell Haris Beach Home
Adikadalayi Nada
P.O. Adikadalayi
Kannur 670003
Reception
Magnet Hotel
Kannur, Kerala
Same city as the ceremony, a short drive between the two. We’ll sort transport for anyone who needs it.
Getting there from Dublin
There’s no direct route, but it’s more manageable than it sounds. Fly to Bangalore (BLR) or Chennai (MAA), then take a half-hour connecting flight to Kannur (CNN) — the nearest airport, and a short drive from both venues.
Book the long leg first and the connection after; the Kannur flights are frequent and rarely the thing that sells out. January is dry season and warm.
What to wear
Traditional Indian dress is very welcome for the ceremony, and not at all expected. Nobody will be counting. If you’d like to wear something traditional and don’t know where to start, ask us — that’s a conversation we’ll enjoy having.
Whatever you choose, go lighter than you think. It will be warm.
Coming to this one?
If Kannur is on your invitation, the question appears on the RSVP form alongside Portmarnock — answer both at once, or tell us you’d like to talk it through first. There’s no rush on this one.
Not sure whether that includes you? Email hello@doireann-jithin.com and just ask.
